... Saints ...

Not to mention they spot a great fur!
This blog should change it's name to "Sunday's with Helen". She is one of the nicest most sincere people I've met since moving to good ole' Paris. Also an expat, Helen has stuck with me since I came here, 4 months ago. Maybe its premature, but je suis en amour! Unfortunately her heart belongs to another. Damn it! I'm always getting snaked out on.

Having a great core of girl friends wasn't always important to me. I had some of the best girlfriends a person could ask for in Boston. It took a long time to find them, and knowing that I was going to be so far from home, I had a really hard time adjusting, that mixed in with the craziest separation anxiety since Zelda Fitzgerald, I was a little manic at the beginning of my journey.  I know how hard it is to make friends, and how painful it is once those friendship dissolve for no apparent reason.

Life's credo!
Its important, and I mean this to you future expats, to find friends here. Parisian's are nice, but  there is nothing like commiserating with fellow expats that also feel like outsiders. Not only is there a language barrier, you have to get past all the awkward things that are typically Parisian! Having a few folks that you can depend on is so important. I'm lucky enough to have a few of them here. The ladies that I've had the pleasure of meeting here, are all expats one way or another. Its a great big glorious group of Americans, English, Irish, and Lithuanian girls, having coffee, or a beer, and its  and its amazing how quickly you rejuvenate after a long week of temper tantrums, tiffs, from the tiny humans you have work with. They're all saints. Each and everyone of them! Not to mention, they can spot a damn great fur, and take a snazzy photo!
